Erganeo is launching two calls for expressions of interest on the theme of Green Cloud Computing and digital technology at the service of ecology.
Submission of applications extended to December 17.
This call aims to support innovative research projects that can provide solutions in the field of dual orientations:
How do digital technologies contribute to meeting the challenges of the ecological transition?
How can the environmental footprint of digital technologies be reduced?
In summary, How to combine digital transition and ecological transition?
As digital power consumption is growing by 9% per year and already accounts for 4% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, how can digital sciences be used to support the ecological transition and, at the same time, how can digital technologies be made more environmentally friendly?
So it seems that digital technology is both a solution and a problem for the ecological transition:
A solution, because it can bring optimization solutions related to the ecological transition
A problem, because with all the systems clustering around them need more and more raw materials and electrical energy.
